The Sharkey Issaquena Nursing Home has successfully secured funding to complete the extensive repairs necessitated by the devastating tornado that struck Rolling Fork on March 24, 2023. The damages that the facility sustained were primarily due to flooding, but thanks to the quick thinking of the staff on duty that night, all residents were kept safe and relocated. Since that time, administration has been working tirelessly with the singular goal of bringing residents back home. We are delighted to share that the facility is slated to reopen in early May 2024. Our residents will be returning to a completely remodeled facility and brand new furnishings throughout.
The past year has been a testament to the unwavering strength and perseverance of all involved. Despite the challenges posed by the disaster, the outpouring of support, dedication, and tireless efforts of so many has been a remarkable display.. As we reopen our doors, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a nurturing environment where our residents can thrive. Their safety, comfort, and well-being remain our top priority, and we have taken every measure to ensure that our facility meets the highest standards of safety and quality.
