On March 24, 2023, our community, hospital, and nursing home suffered significant damage when an EF-4 tornado struck Rolling Fork, Mississippi. Unable to continue operations in the damaged facility, Sharkey Issaquena Community Hospital has temporarily relocated to the former National Guard Armory located at 19719 Highway 61, Rolling Fork, Mississippi 39159. The facility is operational, although services are limited in some cases. We anticipate that the nursing home will be repaired and reopened by December 1, 2023, and look forward to seeing our residents back at home!
Sharkey Issaquena Community Hospital sustained heavy flooding during the storms that caused the emergency department ceiling to collapse. Therefore, repairs to the hospital will be more time consuming- and expensive. Rest assured that we are working diligently to return to normal operations as soon as possible.
